Job Description

Assist English for New Americans (ENA) staff, including the Program Manager and Teachers, in the office or classroom. 


This is an in-person position located at the English for New Americans (ENA) office in Manchester, NH. Hours are Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

RATE: $15.21

SUPERVISION: Works under the direct supervision of the English for New Americans (ENA) Program Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist ENA Program Manager and Teachers with administrative tasks such as phone inquiries, registration, testing, coordinating volunteers, record keeping, and data entry.
  • Assist Teachers as needed (may involved 1:1 or small group work with students needing extra attention).
  • Monitor and allow access to ENA students at the front door; sign students in.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when needed.
  • Will maintain professional boundaries with all current, past, and prospective students, and maintain the confidentiality of students and staff, in accordance with CAPHR and NH Adult Education policy and procedure.
  • Abide by all CAPHR safety policies and procedures.
  • Present professional and positive image as a representative of CAPHR.
  • Responsible for having adequate knowledge of all CAPHR programs and will gather sufficient intake information to make referrals to other CAPHR programs which are beneficial to the client and his/her family.
  • Perform other related duties as required. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to relate and communicate with individuals from varying cultures and English language learners.
  • Interest in and aptitude for teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
  • Understanding of local community agencies and resources.
  • Dependable, reliable, organized, and flexible.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues and community agencies.
